Privacy Policy

The ARCHIVE Download Manager browser extension is a companion to the ARCHIVE Download Manager desktop application for Windows. Its only function is to hand a download you started from that application over to it, so the file is managed there instead of by your browser.

The extension does nothing unless the desktop application is running and you have started a download from within it.

When you start a download from the ARCHIVE desktop application and then begin that download at the provider (gofile.io), the extension accesses:

• The download’s details — its web address, the filename, its size, and the page address the download was started from.
• The gofile.io session cookie — the credential your browser would itself send to fetch the file. This is read only after the desktop application has confirmed it is expecting that specific download.
• A small number of ordinary request headers for that download, such as the browser identification string. Credential-bearing headers are discarded.

The extension has permission to access gofile.io only. It cannot access any other website.

All of the above is passed to the ARCHIVE Download Manager application installed on the same computer, using your browser’s native messaging feature. The desktop application then continues the download.

The extension does not send any information to Prince Laron, to any website, or to any third party. It makes no network requests of its own.

Nothing. The extension uses no browser storage of any kind. It keeps no download history, no credentials and no settings. The session cookie exists only for the moment it takes to pass it to the desktop application, and is then discarded.

Because nothing is stored, there is nothing to retain, export or delete.

• It does not sell or share your information with anyone.
• It contains no analytics, tracking, telemetry or advertising.
• It does not read the content of web pages and adds nothing to them.
• It does not act on downloads from any site other than gofile.io.
• It does not act on any download unless the desktop application confirms it was expecting it.

If you download something from gofile.io for your own reasons, without starting it from the ARCHIVE application, the extension does not act on it. In that case no cookie is read and nothing is transferred. Your download proceeds normally.

This policy also applies to the ARCHIVE Download Manager desktop application. The sections above describe the browser extension, because that is the part with access to your browser; the same commitments apply to the desktop application.

This extension is not directed at children and collects nothing that would identify anyone.
